Overview of trends in design of sportswear for Ukrainian rhythmic gymnasts
Abstract
In the growing competition in the rhythmic gymnastics industry, the issue of developing sportswear that harmoniously combines functionality, aesthetics and national identity is becoming increasingly important. The study aim was to analyse trends in the design of sportswear for Ukrainian rhythmic gymnasts, accounting for aesthetic, functional and technological aspects. The study was based on the analysis of scientific publications, technical documentation and visual materials of international competitions for the period 2015-2024. The study determined that the integration of 3D weaving technologies contributed to a 95% reduction in production waste and also created zones of differential compression directly in the manufacturing process. The use of innovative “smart” fabrics with built-in sensors has increased the efficiency of the training process by 28%. The peculiarities of using Ukrainian ethno-cultural motifs in the design of sportswear were systematised, which demonstrated a positive impact on the psychological confidence of female athletes. The market for high-tech gymnastics costumes has also seen significant growth, with volumes increasing by 45% over 2024. The introduction of environmentally friendly production methods has reduced the carbon footprint by 30%. In addition, the application of the gradient principle of distributing compression zones led to a 15% improvement in the performance of complex physical elements. The results obtained are relevant for sportswear designers, manufacturers and coaches, providing scientifically based recommendations for creating functional and aesthetically perfect suits, accounting for national traditions and modern technological capabilities
