Directing models of author cinema in the context of intercultural dialogue. Part 2. The creativity of the director-author in the system of international cooperation

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to identify the problems of intercultural cooperation in the process of production and distribution of films based on director's models of auteur cinema and to define scientific guidelines that will contribute to a comprehensive analysis of the phenomenon of Ukrainian auteur cinema in the intercultural space. Research methodology. The researcher used the analytical method, which is necessary for studying the art historical and cultural aspect of the problem. In addition, the researcher used the methods of systematization and generalization, which were useful for arguing the originality of the phenomenon of auteur film directing, its place in contemporary cultural processes, and for identifying the objective patterns that characterize auteur cinematic practices in the contemporary intercultural space. The cross-cultural method was also used to identify the peculiarities of the production and distribution of films by directors of author's cinema models in the system of international cooperation. The cultural approach determined the generalized socio-cultural orientation of the study of auteur cinema of the postmodern and post-postmodern culture. The scientific novelty of the study is that the problem of intercultural cooperation in the production and distribution of auteur cinema in Ukraine and abroad in the context of international support programs was first made the subject of a special study; the content of the concepts of “intercultural dialogue” and “co-production” as a specific integrity and unity of interrelated elements is argued; the works of Ukrainian auteur filmmakers whose films were created as international projects are singled out and characterized; the expediency of Conclusions. Familiarization with the materials presented in the article expands the arsenal of knowledge about the specifics of production and distribution of films by directors of author's cinema models within intercultural projects and makes it possible to use them in courses on the theory and history of cinema and directing.
